Crafting Nostalgia: A Unique Suitcase Desk for an Avid Traveller
When a customer, who is an avid traveller, approached us with a suitcase that held immense sentimental value, we were excited to help transform it into a portable desk.
The journey began with our customer sharing several inspiration pictures, showcasing various features and styles she envisioned for her suitcase desk.
The challenge was to merge functionality with the essence of the suitcase, ensuring its character remained intact. We diligently studied the pictures, extracted the elements that resonated with her vision, and started brainstorming on how to incorporate these into the suitcase.
Utilizing advanced 3D design software, we crafted a virtual model of the suitcase desk. Every detail, from the placement of compartments to the foldable structure, was meticulously designed, keeping in mind our customer’s needs. After a few tweaks and modifications, we presented the design to the customer. She was thrilled with the concept, and with her approval, we embarked on the making journey.
Creating a foldable and stable working surface within the confines of the suitcase was a meticulous task. The surface was designed to be robust yet lightweight, ensuring it could withstand the rigours of travel. Custom compartments were created for stationery, gadgets, and documents, ensuring every inch of the suitcase was utilized efficiently.
It was designed to have a storage space just under the working surface to retain a little bit of its original purpose.
The juxtaposition of the suitcase’s vintage charm with contemporary features brought the design to life. We worked on every detail, from the selection of materials to the finishing touches, ensuring the desk was fully functional and will extend its life and use for our customer.
The suitcase desk we made is foldable, portable, and has its original sentimental value retained within it.
